RECORD LIBRARY is located on the first floor of the Academy building at Świętego Tomasza 43 street in room 118. Current opening hours are available here. The collection of the Record Library include CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, analogue discs, cassette, reel-to-reel and VHS tapes. CDs, DVDs, analogue discs and cassette tapes are available to all interested parties on site. You can use them in the Reading Room, using a CD/DVD player, gramophone, tape recorder and headphones (with the possibility of splitting the signal for 2 listeners simultaneously). The employees and students of the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow are allowed to borrow recordings (including Blu-ray discs and VHS tapes). The collections are available without the need to place an order. NOTE: Most of the CDs purchased after 2012 are registered in the Main Catalogue. Other audiovisual collections are registered in the card catalogue located in the Record Library.
How to borrow?Audiovisual materials can be ordered through the Main Catalogue, by email (if the item’s call number is known) or in person at the Record Library, where you can find items in the Card Catalogue. Depening on the type of item ordered, the orders are available to pick up:
To collect the order, the library card must be presented – in the case of students and doctoral students, the library card is the current student or doctoral student ID card.
ReturnsReturns should be made in person at Record Library.
Materials for baroque and wind orchestrasDuring the academic year, the Record Library also provides sheet music for current baroque and wind orchestras projects. In order to borrow materials for orchestra, you must first register with the Library (rm 122). Sheet music must be returned within 3 working days after the concert. The lost or damaged sheet music must be immediately reported to the Library. The borrower is financially responsible for any damage.
