DETAILED REQUIREMENTS
FOR THE UNDERGRADUATE (BACHELOR’S DEGREE) PROGRAMME

A one-stage examination, practical

Programme:

Playing the organ

Core subject practical examination for candidates taking an organ exam:

  • a pre-Bach piece (a larger form from the North German School)
  • J. S. Bach – a fast tempo movement of a trio sonata
  • J. S. Bach – chorale prelude with an adorned cantus firmus
  • a piece by J. S. Bach – to be chosen from among: BWV 532, 538, 540-544, 546-548, 550, 564, 566, 566a, 582
  • a piece from the 19th or 20th century or part(s) thereof (excluding minor pieces or parts thereof)

The programme may be performed from memory or from sheet music.
The Academy of Music in Kraków does not provide the recording assistance.

Core subject practical examination for candidates taking a piano exam:

  • J. S. Bach – prelude and fugue (WTC)
  • a fast tempo movement of a classical sonata
  • an etude of virtuoso character
  • a piece from the 19th or 20th century of cantilena character

The programme may be performed from memory or from sheet music.

Core subject practical examination for candidates taking a harpsichord exam:

  • J. S. Bach – Prelude and fugue (from WTC)
  • a suite (or excerpts) by a French composer from the 17th or 18th century
  • a piece from the second half of the 18th century excluding French composers
  • a piece from the 20th or 21st century
  • the programme may be performed from memory or from sheet music.

DETAILED REQUIREMENTS
FOR THE GRADUATE (MASTER’S DEGREE) PROGRAMME

A one-stage examination, practical

Programme:

Playing the organ

  • J. S. Bach – a trio sonata
  • A piece (or parts thereof) by the following composers of the 19th or 20th century: F. Liszt, J. Reubke, M. Reger, S. Karg-Elert, C. Franck, Ch. M. Widor, L. Vierne, M. Dupré, M. Duruflé, O. Messiaen (duration of the piece: at least 10 minutes)
  • A free-choice piece

Duration of the programme: approx. 45-50 minutes.
