DETAILED REQUIREMENTS
FOR THE UNDERGRADUATE (BACHELOR’S DEGREE) PROGRAMME
A two-stage examination; candidates who have passed the first stage are admitted to the second stage.
Stage 1: Major exam
an examination in playing an instrument – practical
Supplementary exam
Interview – oral examination
Stage 2: Supplementary exam
1. sight-reading – a practical examination
2. a quick study examination (preparation of a provided piece of music – individual work) – practical
Programme:
Playing the percussion
- Two snare drum etudes: classical and rudimental
- An etude or piece for 4 timpani
- A piece for marimba or vibraphone, using 4-mallet technique
- A piece for a set of percussion instruments (multipercussion)
The length of the programme must not exceed 30 minutes.

FOR THE GRADUATE (MASTER’S DEGREE) PROGRAMME
One-stage examination:
Major exam
an examination in playing an instrument – practical
Supplementary exam
An interview – oral examination
Programme:
Playing the percussion
- A free-choice piece for a set of percussion instruments (multipercussion)
- A free-choice piece on a melodic instrument, of an appropriate level of difficulty, solo or with accompaniment
- A concert piece for 4 timpani
Duration of the programme: approx. 25-30 minutes.
