Wladislaw Winokurow – violin


Wladislaw Winokurow (born in 1980 in Kiew, Ukrain) came into contact with music at a very young age: he was born into a family of musicians and received his first musical education through his father at the age of five. At the age of ten he gained important experience as a soloist with the Kiev Chamber Orchestra.
In 1991 he moved to Austria where he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the class of Prof. Boris Kuschnir, graduating with distinction.
Wladislaw Winokurow is the founder and the first violin of the Gliere String Quartet. After having been rewarded a first prize at the International Beethoven Competition in 2012 he has been invited to numerous international festivals and has an active concert schedule.
Regular cooperation with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Concert-Verein (Ensemble of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra), Vienna Classical Players (Ensemble of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra), Vienna String Soloists (Ensemble of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra), Strauss Festival Orchestra, etc.
In 2010 he was appointed as a teacher at the School of Music Margareten where he teaches violin classes. From 2012 until 2013 he was a Senior Lecturer (substitute for preparatory class) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Successes since 2010 include first prizes at numerous national and international competitions, such as Bravo Concours (Concours Grumiaux, Belgium), Vasa Prihoda Competition (Czech Republic), Vienna Festival (Austria), Prima La Musica (Solo and Chamber Music) etc. Teaching activity at national and international master classes, such as the Wieniawski Society Masterclasses (Poland). Jury member at Prima La Musica.
Founder and chairman of the Art and Culture Association which focuses on the promotion of music among youths.
Artistic director of the self-initiated master class “Cultural Worlds Master Class”.
Since 2015 speaker of the specialist group for high strings at the School of Music Vienna.
