Rafał Jacek Delekta – conducting
Conductor, pedagogue, director and orchestrator. He graduated from the State Secondary Music School in Krakow, the viola class, and the Academy of Music in Krakow, the conducting class of Prof. Jerzy Katlewicz (diploma with honours). At the Krakow Academy, he gained 1st and 2nd-level qualifications (1992, 1996). He participated in the Bach’s (Prof. Rilling) and Bartok’s (Prof. Somogyi) music interpretation course. He completed the post-graduate marketing programme at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). As a conductor, he has cooperated with the Opera House and Operetta Theatre in Krakow, Sinfonia Varsovia, “Roma” theatre in Warsaw, the Music Theatre in Gliwice, the Music Theatre in Gdynia and international orchestras. He was the artistic and general manager of the Opera House in Bydgoszcz (1989-1991), conducted the Symphonic Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Krakow (1991-1996), established and directed for a long time the Young Philharmonic in Krakow (the Symphonic Orchestra of the Karłowicz Music School Complex in Krakow), with whom he gave concerts in Poland and abroad. He has conducted with such soloists as Tatiana Shebanowa, Sharon Markovitsh, Elżbieta Towarnicka, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Krzysztof Jakowicz, Janusz Olejniczak, Grigorij Zhyslin, Allan Marks, Kemal Gekic, Stanisław Drzewiecki, Daniel Stabrawa and others. Frequently invited to make radio and TV recordings, he has recorded classical music, film music, theatre music, pop, rock and jazz. He has conducted over 3000 operas, operettas and musicals and over 400 symphonic and chamber music concerts. He is an outstanding specialist in the interpretation of opera and oratorio music.
