In the years 1950-55 she studied at the PWSM in Kraków in the class of composition of Stanisław Wiechowicz, she also studied piano with Jan Hoffman. Among the works of Prof. Moszumańska-Nazar the most outstanding are: her orchestral works – Hexaedre1960; Music for Strings 1962; Exodus for symphonic orchestra and tape 1964; Variazioni concertanti for flute and chamber orchestra 1966; Pour orchestre 1969; Rhapsody I 1975;Rhapsody II 1980; Sinfonietta for string orchestra 1983; Concerto for Orchestra 1986;Frecos cycle (I 1988; II 1991; III 1991; IV „Lwow” 1997); Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra 1998; Violin Concerto 2000. Her chamber works cover 3 string quartets (No.1 1974, No.2 1980, No.3 1995); works for various instrumental ensembles and solo instruments including solo percussion. Other works of Krystyna Moszumańska-Nazar areIntonations for two mixed choirs and orchestra 1968; Bel canto for soprano, celesta and percussion 1972; Polish Madonnas for mixed choir and orchestra 1974; Confession for baritone and chamber orchestra 1977; Song of Songs for soprano, reciting voice, men’s choir and chamber orchestra 1984 and Pater Noster for men’s choir and organ 1997. As a composition teacher, she educated a circle of significant composers such as Magdalena Długosz, Aleksandra Gryka, Marzena Korzeniowska, Jerzy Kluzowicz, Michał Kluzowicz, Adrian Konarski, Anna Mikulska, Anna Zawadzka-Gołosz.
Krystyna Moszumańska-Nazar held the post of Rector in a difficult period of political transformation, during which the Academy of Music gained a new location on Tomasza Street 43, the Department of Interpretation of Contemporary Music was created (1991), annual cycle of Early Music Performance Courses led by Dutch specialists in 17th and 18th century music from the Amsterdam Conservatory were initiated (1991). The time was also a period of preparation and introduction of significant modernizations of syllabi.
In recognition of her entire oeuvre as well as of her diverse cultural activity Krystyna Moszumańska-Nazar hsa been honoured with: the Prize of the Minister of Culture and Art (five times), the City of Kraków Prize, Golden Cross of Merit, the Prime Minister’s Award (for works for children and youth), Cavalier’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Award of the Polish Composers’ Union, the Award of Merit for National Culture, Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. On the occasion of her 75th birthday and 45th anniversary of artistic work she was honoured with Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, with the Honorary Prize of Polish Culture Foundation in Kraków and with the Medaille de l’Officier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
