prof. dr hab. Jan Jazownik
Jan Jazownik is a Polish conductor and university teacher, born in Krakow. He was graduated of two faculties at the Academy of Music in Krakow: choral conducting (in the class led by prof. Ludwik Wisniowski – 1985) and symphony conducting (in the class led by prof. Jerzy Katlewicz – 1989). He took part in master courses: Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart – prof. H. Rilling (Krakow 1990, 1998), interpretation courses of the baroque music – Paul Esswood (Krakow 1994, 1995, 2002, 2003). During his studies, he started cooperation with professor Adam Kaczynski in the Contemporary Music Interpretation Department leading orchestras and chamber ensembles.
Jan Jazownik was conducted of the many chamber and symphony Polish orchestras (in Krakow, Katowice, Bialystok, Szczecin, Rzeszow, Czestochowa, Kielce, Kalisz, Torun). He was invited to perform during festivals: Krakowska Wiosna Muzyki, Dni Muzyki Kompozytorów Krakowskich, Dni Muzyki Oliviera Messiaen’a, Muzyka w Starym Krakowie, L’estate Teatrale, Dni Krakowa w Kijowie, Dni Krakowa w Sztokholmie, Jaworskie Koncerty Pokoju, Festiwal Nauki w Krakowie, Święto Muzyki w Częstochowie.
Jan Jazownik was employed at the post of artistic head of Jelenia Gora Philharmonic (1990/91), Music Theatre in Gliwice (1997/98), Opera at the Castle in Szczecin (1998-2000). He cooperated with Polish Radio Orchestra in Krakow (1992), Music Theatre in Gliwice (1998 – 1999), Opera at the Castle in Szczecin (2000 – 2002). Since 2009 he has been cooperating with the Krakow Opera. He perform with orchestras and choirs as a guest conductor.
