Kolaska MarceliA graduate of Prof. Jerzy Katlewicz’s conducting studio at the Academy of Music in Kraków, Marceli Kolaska has taken part in several conducting courses led by Helmuth Rilling. He has held the post of assistant choirmaster of the Polish Radio Choir in Kraków (1989/90 and 1994–96), and has concertized with, among other orchestras, the Kraków, Rzeszów, Częstochowa, Kielce and Jelenia Góra Philharmonics, as well as the Polish Radio and Television Symphony in Kraków, the Bielsko-Biała, Tarnów and Toruń Chamber Orchestras, along with the Kraków Chamber Choir and THE OCTAVA ENSEMBLE; he has also conducted concerts in Germany, France, Slovakia and Great Britain. Marceli Kolaska has prepared and presented an array of operas with students in the Faculty of Voice and Opera at the Academy of Music in Kraków, among others: W. A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Cosí fan tutte, C. W. Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, H. Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. He also has to his credit radio recordings (for Polish Radio) made with the Polish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and Choir in Kraków, as well as the première and first radio  recording of Jerzy Bauer’s Missa pagana (archival recording for Channel 2 of Polish Radio, 1996) and Polish première and first recording of Józef Michał Ksawery Poniatowski’s Missa in F.
