A music theoretician who has been working at the Faculty of Theory and Interpretation of Musical Composition of the Academy of Music in Kraków since 1996. A member of the Division of Musicologists of the Polish Composers’ Union, Polish Society for Music Analysis and Societé Internationale du Théâtre de l’Opera et du Balet. In the years 1999–2009 she cooperated with the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków as a presenter of music programmes for children and school youth. From September 2009 she is also a teacher of general-musical subjects at the Bronisław Rutkowski Primary and Secondary Music School in Kraków.
In her work so far, she focused on the issues connected with secular Italian music of the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. In the year 2002 she received the Scholarship of the Italian Government for the realization of research works at Università degli Studi di Firenze. Her recent research pertained to sacral Italian music and the results of the research were presented in the year 2007 in her doctorate dissertation titled The “Stabat Mater” Sequence in the Work of 18th-Century Italian Composers. From a Word to Musical Interpretation. The unpublished doctoral dissertation was entered into the ZKP competition for the Rev. Prof. Hieronim Feicht Award, in which the jury awarded it a distinction (2010). Actually she is interested in polish contemporary religious music (mainly Paweł Łukaszewski’s compositions). She is the author of a book titled Religious Compositions of Paweł Łukaszewski. Music as an Expression of the Artist’s Sense of Faith (Kraków 2019), several publications and entries to Polish encyclopaedias and music dictionaries.
