prof. dr hab. Benedykt Matusik
Graduated from the Academy of Music in Kraków, in the class of Stanisław Majerski (1990). During his studies he participated in several masterclasses, working with artists such as M. Parkinson, A. Ardasch, E. Tarr. Principal trumpet of Capellae Cracoviensis Orchestra(1989-93), Polish Radio Orchestra in Kraków (1993-94), and since 1995 also of Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. He took part in over 70 concert tours, visiting several European countries as well as the USA, Peru, Japan, Turkey and Lebanon, performing in numerous prestigious concert venues (such as Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Alte Oper in Frankfurt, philharmonic halls in Berlin, Cologne, Vienna and Tokio, Barbikan Centre and Royal Festival Hall in London). He has given concerts under the baton of many renowned conductors, such as K. Masur, Ch. Eschenbach, S. Skrowaczewski or K. Penderecki. Soloist and chamber musician, co-founder and member of the ,,Barock Tune” chamber ensemble, he regularly collaborates with Sinfonietta Cracovia chamber orchestra. Since 1993 he has taught trumpet at the Academy of Music in Kraków. In 2001 he obtained a 1st degree qualification in the discipline of instrumental music – trumpet and in 2013 he obtained the degree of Habilitated Doctor of Musical Arts. Presently he works at the Academy as Associate Professor.
