dr Marcin Banaszek
Marcin Banaszek (1983) – pianist and composer. He graduated from the Jazz Department of the F. Chopin State School of Music, Warsaw. Then he graduated his musical studies (masters and doctoral) from the Krakow Academy in jazz piano class. Marcin Banaszek was awarded for the following jazz competition: Gnesin – Jazz Festival (Moscow, Russia), Krokus Jazz Festival (Jelenia Gora, Poland), Europejskie Integracje Muzyczne (Zyrardow, Poland), Nadzieje Warszawy (Warsaw, Poland). In 2017, he released an album entitled Stations of the Cross.
He is an assistant at the Academy of Music in Krakow, where he specializes in additional jazz piano course. In addition, he teaches the history of jazz and jazz harmony with improvisation at the F. Chopin State School of Music, Warsaw.
He was the organizer and co-organizer of jazz scientific events at the Academy of Music in Krakow, incl. International Science and Teaching Conference Jazz XXI (2018).
