mgr Gabriel Niedziela
Gabriel Niedziela is a jazz guitarist born in 1987 in Poland. He has completed every stage of the formal music education resulting in his graduation from the Karol Szymanowski Jazz Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland in 2011. Also Gabriel was taking lessons with Aaron Parks and Peter Bernstein in New York in 2018.
His most significant individual prizes on jazz competitions are:
- Grand Prix on II International Jarek Śmietana Jazz Guitar Competition, Cracow 2017, Poland,
- II prize on Novum Jazz Festival, Łomża 2013, Poland,
- Special prize on V International Jazz Improvisation Competition, Katowice 2010, Poland,
- II prize on Guitar City – Guitar Master International Jazz Competition, Warsaw 2007, Poland.
Gabriel takes part in various musical projects, he is a leader of „Gabriel Niedziela Quintet” and a composer for the group, co-leader of LNSD Quartet (Łukowski, Niedziela, Smoczyński, Dobrowolski), releasing CD in 2016, and a member of the „Generation Next” Sextet. He co-creates „Michał Urbaniak Group”, Jacek Niedziela–Meira „Bassville Trio”, „Peter Gabriel Duo” with Piotr Schmidt and „Przemek Strączek Guitar Duo. In recent years he has recorded an original music with LNSD Quartet – 2020, Piotr Baron – Wodecki Jazz 2019, Marcin Wawrzynowicz – Soundpack 2019, Piotr Schmidt – Generation Next 2013, Jacek Niedziela–Meria – Zjesienniony 2011.
Gabriel is also very active as a sideman and often invited to different music formations and projects. He has been performing on the biggest festivals in Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Georgia, Vietnam and collaborated with artists such as: Michał Urbaniak, Maria Schneider, Nels Cline, Michael Patches Stewart, Jamie Baum, Michael Schiefel, Piotr Wojtasik, Grzegorz Nagórski, Wojciech Karolak, Joachim Mencel, Ewa Uryga, Jacek Niedziela–Meira, Piotr Baron, Wojciech Niedziela, Frank Parker, Jerzy Małek, Paweł Tomaszewski, Włodzimierz Nahorny czy Bogdan Hołownia.
In 2013 he worked with Maria Schneider’s Silesian Orchestra at Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa in Bielsko-Biała, Poland. He was also cooperating with Jamie Baum, Nels Cline with his Blue Note „Lovers” and many great polish jazz musicians. Gabriel explores various styles in music, from early bebop to european modern jazz.
