A pianist born in Bydgoszcz. Graduated with honors the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in Professor David Lutz’s vocal-accompaniment class. Before studied also in Warsaw with Andrzej Stefanski, Krzysztof Jabłoński and Barbara Halska.
He is a many-sided artist. Napierała gives concerts as a soloist, chamber musician, but mostly as an respected vocal accompanist – he regularly performs with Olga Pasichnyk, Tomasz Konieczny, Monika Bohinec, Aida Garifullina, Paul Schweinester and many others. He performed at such a meaningful concert halls as Vienna Musikverein, Konzerthaus, philharmonies in Berlin, Warsaw, Sofja, Ljubljana, Bukarest etc. He regularly performs in Europe (Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldavia, Italy) and Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, China).
He is the laureate of Piano Duets International Competition in Białystok in 2002 (3rd prize) and International Song Competition in Sofia in 2009 and 2011 (2nd prize). He is also a threefold laureate of a concert cycle titled “Musical Forum of the Young” organized by Austrian Culture Forum in Warsaw. He is also a scholar of Polish Culture Minister, in a special program “Młoda Polska”. As an accompanist he is regularly invited to Masterclasses in Poland, Germany, France and Austria.
He recorded two CD’s for polish recording producer DUX. First with Aleksandra Szczęsnowicz (2004), with pieces for two pianos, the second one, a solo album with polish mazurkas of Chopin, Szymanowski and Maciejewski (2010). In may 2014 appeared his third CD with chamber music and songs of Roxanna and Andrzej Panufnik (recorded for Signum Records).
Since 2013 Lech Napierała is teaching chamber music and vocal accompaniment at the Academy of Music in Cracow, where he earned his Ph.D. in 2013.
