dr Katarzyna Pilipiuk – baroque oboe
Studied historical oboe first under Marek Niewiedział, then under Frank de Bruine. Subsequently she developed her skills through postgraduate studies with prof. Alfredo Bernardini at Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg. During her studies she attended numerous masterclasses led by: Alfredo Bernardini (at Urbino Musica Antica, Accademia Villa Bossi, Amsterdam Early Music Summer School, Akademie für Alte Musik Bruneck), Elisabeth Baumer, Magdalena Karolak, Molly Marsch, Josep Domenech and Paolo Grazzi. Katarzyna performs 18th and 19th century music on copies of the historical instruments (baroque oboe, French oboe in 392 Hz., oboe d’amore, oboe da caccia, English horn, classical and romantic oboe). She cooperates frequently with early music ensembles, such as Polska Orkiestra XVIII Wieku, Famd.pl Orchestra, Il Tempo, Diletto, Risonanza, Goldberg Baroque Ensemble, Arte dei Suonatori, Ensemble 244, Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, La Divina Armonia. She is a member of chamber music groups Il Vento, Osteria Barocca and Antica Cucina. Beside her concert activity she is devoted to research concerning the history of oboe and a forgotten repertoire of the 18th century composers.
